After weeks of hard work, long weekend meetings, and the assistance of our friends and families, we just received notice that our company, among 9 others, has been selected to advance to the next round! Now, there is still much work to be done, we have to complete a business plan within the week and begin working on our 10 minute pitch for the final segment of the competition; however, winning this competition will dramatically help to propel Blondin, and our assay, to the market place.
Who is Blondin Bioscience and what do we do?
The road to startup
We have also not been alone in this process to Alabama Launchpad, We have received guidance and support from not only the Research Foundation at UAB but also previous Launchpad winners such as Chris Giattina, CEO of BLOX. We would also like to give special thanks to Jase Carns who worked tirelessly to ensure our 3 minute pitch video would propel us to the next level. In addition to the number of people who worked behind the scenes to help Blondin, there are also our friends and families who believe in us and what we are doing to change the cancer burden, many of whom can be seen in this clip:
Where does the road take us next?
We still have a ways to go. We have a business plan to finalize and submit to the judges within a week. The final 10 minute pitch is set to occur on Friday, July 18th. But we believe in our assay, we believe in our mission, and we know that the funds raised from winning Alabama Launchpad will allow us to continue this dream in which we will change the story of cancer by saving time, saving money and saving lives!
